1. A Dialogue about Eradicate Illiteracy

Monir    : Hi Sakib, how are you?
Sakib    : I’m fine. And you?
Monir    : I’m fine too. But I’m thinking about a great problem of our country.
Sakib    : What is it?
Monir      : It is our illiteracy problem. What’s your opinion?
Sakib  : Yes. It is a great problem as well as a curse for the country.
Monir : How?
Sakib    : Because without education no nation can develop. Actually ignorance creates many problems .
Monir   : What should we do then?
Sakib  : We should work hard unitedly to educate the illiterate.
Monir : We also need to create people’s awareness so that they send their children to school.
Sakib  : Yes, of curse. It’s the key factor. Our government has already taken some steps to remove illiteracy.
Monir : We must co-operate with the govt.
Sakib  : Yes, we must come forward in this regard.
Monir : But there are some people in our society who are very poor. They are unwilling to send their children to school owing to poverty.
Sakib :  Indeed! It’s quite so. To persuade the poor people to send their children to school, the government has also started ‘Food for Education’ program.
Monir : Yes, it is an epoch-making step.
Sakib  : But the govt. alone cannot solve the problem. Every educated person including students must come forward to educate the illiterate.
Monir : Of course. To make the program a success we must co-operate with each other.
Sakib  : If we are sincere in our words and deeds, nothing is impossible.
Monir : That’s right. Thank you.
Sakib  : Okay. See you again

2. A Dialogue about bad effects of illiteracy

Mona   : Hello, Ripa. What are you reading?
Ripa     : Hi! I am reading an article on illiteracy problem of Bangladesh. What do you know about it?
Mona   : It is one of the greatest curses of Bangladesh. It should be eradicated within very short time.
Ripa     : Happy to hear it. But how?
Mona   : Our Government should take some steps to eradicate it. Education should be made free to all and it should be made compulsory.
Ripa     : Is it possible for government only?
Mona   : The literate persons will also help the government.
Ripa     : I also think so. If every literate person teaches one illiterate person, it will be removed within a short time.
Mona   : You are absolutely right. So, from now we can do it.
Ripa     : Exactly. Let’s try.

3. Write a dialogue between two friends about the importance of a doctor in our country

Sujon : Hello Jamia, how are you ?
Jamia : Fine, thank you. And how about you ?
Sujon : I’m also fine, Jamia. May I know your choice of career?
Jamia : Yes, of course. I have decided to become a doctor. Do you like this profession?
Sujon : Yes I do. It is a  good profession. Could you tell me why you have chosen this profession?
Jamia : Doctors play important roles in our lives, no matter our ages, cultural backgrounds or medical needs. They ask us to do what is right for our health and the health of our loved ones. Most of our people are deprived of the service of the doctors.
Sujon : Yes, there are shortage of good doctors in our country. They people who live in the villages cannot consult a good doctor.
Jamia : I want to serve the people. I want to help them when they are hurt or have fallen ill.
Sujon : Most importantly, doctors talk with us about how we can preserve our most valuable resource our good health. Are you willing to go to the villagers if necessary?
Jamia : Yes, of course.  Through this profession I will be able to earn money honestly.

Jamia : You’re welcome. Good bye. See you again.
Sujon : Bye.

Paragraph Writing

A School Magazine

A school magazine is an annual publication of a school. It contains the writings of the students and the teachers. We have a school magazine. Its name is “The Light of Dawn”. It is published once a year. Its cover page is very attractive. A committee is formed in a general meeting for the publication of the magazine. The Headteacher of the school is the president of the committee.

He inspires us to submit our writings. An English teacher is an adviser. The other members of the committee help him with the publication of the magazine. Our school magazine contains different kinds of writings. They include poems, jokes, essays, short stories, and a one-act play. It also includes the message from the Headteacher and the annual reports of the cultural activities of our school. Most writers are the students., They express the feelings of their young minds through their writings. Some teachers also write here. The magazine is bilingual in, nature. So, one can write in Bangla or English. All the students and the members of the committee do their best for the publication of this magazine. It helps us to know more about literature. It develops our writing skills. We are proud of our school magazine.
